Successful graduates of pharmacyresidency programs should beprepared to enter many potential positions in clinical practice, includ-ing positions as clinical specialists or in research and development, indus-try, or academia. In most clinical pharmacy practices and certainly in academia, residency graduates are expected to do some teaching. This may include medication counseling for patients and family members, pres-entation of formal and informal inservice programs for professionals, new product detailing, preceptorship of students or residents, and presen-tation of formal academic lectures
