The KEK/PF 2.5-GeV linac is under reconstruction for KEKB (the B-Factory at KEK). The linac will be renewed in the autumn of 1998 as an 8-GeV electron linac, which can provide full-energy beams into the 8-GeV electron ring and 3.5-GeV positron ring of KEKB, while continuing the injection of 2.5-GeV beams for the synchrotron-radiation (SR) facilities. The main goal of the injector linac is to achieve an energy upgrade from 2.5 GeV to 8 GeV, as well as to increase the positron intensity.
