Criminal offences committed by the Czechoslovak gendarmerie in Prague and the outskirts 1918−1921

SYNOPSIS The subject of the criminality of armed forces is serious and belogs to less processed problems of modern history. The goal of this bachelor thesis is to examine illegal behaviour and offences of the gendarmes in interwar period in Prague and the outskirts. The author will make an effort to analyse different types of criminal activities of the gendarmes and compare them with criminality of civil persons. The motives for illegal behaviour of the gendarmery will be inquired in this thesis, its results and punishment by the gendarmery officers or military courts will be inquired as well. The base of the historical sources comprises mostly of criminal files of the gendarmes, handbooks for the gendarmery, directives and regulations.
