Given names of Vietnamese children born in the Czech Republic

Lukáš Vlasák Bakalářská práce - abstract in English (2014) Abstract (in English): In the first part of the bachelor's thesis is described the structure of a Vietnamese name. The list of the most common given names is included, followed by grammar rules of their ussage in the Czech language. It as well describes the history of a migration of Vietnamese to the Czech Republic. The second empirical part is oriented sociolinguistically. You will find here my foundings based on questionnaires which were distributed among Vietnamese children born in the Czech Republic. The research examines what factors limit the selection of a given name. The goal of this document is to present results of the research. Found tendencies of choosing given names are interpreted considering sociolinguistics factors
