Nursing Care of Patients after Hemithyreoidectomy

The aim of this paper is case study in a patient aged 48 years who has been admitted for planned surgery for thyroid j goiter. Mr. Z.B. was hospitalized in a department of surgery, a Prague hospital. Hospitalization lasted 5 days. The clinical part deals with the history of therapy, anatomy and physiology of the thyroid gland. Furthermore, thyroid diseases and their clinical symptoms, diagnostic tests, treatment options and postoperative complications. Another section contains basic information about the patient, medical history and course of disease, including test results, during operation and prognosis. The nursing section briefly describes the nursing process and its use in practice. In my work I have to evaluate the patient and determine the needs of selected model-functioning health Marjory Gordon. To establish the diagnosis and the realization of short-term care plan, I chose the third day of hospitalization, namely the first postoperative day.
