Review Essay: Attempting to Integrate Research on Childhood and Biographical Research

The book integrates contributions from a variety of disciplines, especially childhood research and autobiography. It includes articles written by leading researchers in these fields. Some of the contributions are guided by the question of what the "new" research on childhood may learn from discussions within biographical research. The "new" research in childhood positions children as subjects and tries to understand their world from their own perspective. The book offers a number of new connections between the two theoretical approaches.
