ResumenEl presente artículo explica la distinción entre los métodos y la metodología, ya que los desafíos de la investigación científica exigen que éstos sean entendidos como herramientas útiles para permitir la comprensión y argumentación de los distintos problemas de estudio. La falta de distinción entre ambos conceptos como punto de partida en la enseñanza de las ciencias sociales, ocasiona visiones equívocas que se traducen en confusión o insuficiencia al momento de reflexionar sobre su contenido y aplicación.
