Knowledge is recognized as an action of man, which is developed consciously and intentionally, with the purpose of apprehending the qualities of the object and what is related to the subject, who understands himself as the one who knows, and his way of thinking is evolving. In terms of research, the process of the methodology to be used facilitates the use and selection of the most appropriate method, since it allows the analysis of the research, even if it generates not only advantages but also limitations. The aim is to describe the different positions of thought of a researcher according to the object investigated. The methodology was descriptive, documentary, and not experimental. It seeks to show the different approaches that can be presented in the social sciences when dealing with the various problematic possibilities that surround man as part of society. Therefore, the proper management of the researcher’s thinking facilitates the generation of correct answers regarding a study hypothesis, so it is important to know theories and their evolution over time.El conocimiento se reconoce como una acción del hombre que se desarrolla de forma consciente e intencional, con el propósito de aprehender las cualidades del objeto y lo referido al sujeto, quien se entiende como el que conoce, y va evolucionando su forma de pensar. En términos de investigación, los procesos de la metodología a utilizar, facilitan el uso y la selección del método que sea más adecuado, ya que permite el análisis de lo investigado, aun cuando no solo genera ventajas, sino también limitaciones. El objetivo, es describir las distintas posturas del pensamiento de un investigador de acuerdo al objeto investigado. La metodología fue de tipo descriptiva, documental, y no experimental. En la misma, se busca mostrar los distintos enfoques que se pueden presentar en las ciencias sociales cuando se abordan las diversas posibilidades problemáticas que entornan al hombre como parte de la sociedad. Por ello, el adecuado manejo del pensamiento del investigador, facilita la generación de respuestas correctas en relación a una hipótesis de estudio, por lo que es importante conocer teorías y su evolución en el tiempo
