Road safety in the Netherlands of drivers from Middle and Eastern European Member States; An exploratory study. In November 2011, Dutch Parliament passed a resolution, put forward by the PVV. It was established in this resolution that the number of registered crashes involving drivers from so-called MEE countries was increasing. MEE countries are Mid- and East-European EU countries. This resolution requested the Minister of Infrastructure and the Environment to investigate whether the increase in the number of registered crashes involving drivers from the MEE countries may possibly be the result of a lower quality of the driving courses in MEE countries.
