EVALUASI SISTEM INSTALASI PENGOLAHAN AIR LIMBAH (IPAL) KOMUNAL BERBASIS MASYARAKAT DI KECAMATAN TAMALATE KOTAMADYA MAKASSAR

Any waste water which had produced need to be manage well based on its characteristic in order to lowering the quality of pollutant that contain in it. Communal WWTP is a waste water treatment that conducted centrally. Some Communal WWTP, especially in Makassar City already exist in such as dense popullation area in Tamalate Subdistric. However, Communal WWTP that have been built insufficient and not describe the quality that meets the standards, unsustainable, as well as a lack of attention to the maintenance of the Communal WWTP and ultimately abandoned. This study aims to determine characteristic and analyze the performance of Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) Communal in Subdistrict Tamalate by collecting related data, such as data brom Statistic Central Agency, Sub-distric Office, and Public Employment Agency. Also sample that taken from inlet and outlet of WWTP that will be evaluated, then will be tested in the laboratorium to know the value of TSS, BOD. COD, pH, Oil and Grease and then compared with the standart. Based on the results that obtained from Field visits, there are 11 locations of Community WWTP in the Subdistrict Tamalate and the system that Community WWTP uses are the combination from anaerobic fluidized bed bio-filter and imhoff tank. For the evaluation of Communal WWTP in the 2 villages, found that the number of people that used Community WWTP in the 2 villages are overcapacity and in Maccini Sombala village only TSS values that do not meet quality standards while at Jongaya village there are two parameters that do not meet the quality standard that TSS and COD
