The writer, after conferring with his graduate committee, selected a lecture-recital project in partial fulfillment of the requirements for his Master of Science degree in Music Education. As a junior high school instrumental teacher and specialist on the low brass instruments, he was advised by his committee chairman, Professor Max F. Dalby, to also utilize some of his junior high school students on the recital. It was suggested that he play various instruments with them, as well as appropriate solos on his major instruments: euphonium, tenor trombone, and tuba.
