Author Institution: Department of Chemistry, University of PennsylvaniaNon-chemiluminescent electronic states present in the $Ba + N_{2}O$ flame are examined under collision-free and medium pressure $(200 \mu)$ conditions. Chemically produced excited states are excited further with a pulsed tunable dye laser. Time resolved fluorescence is observed in the visible and ultraviolet, allowing spectroscopic access to highly excited states, and assignment of the nascent and pressure dependent relative populations of the reactions
