Author Institution:The excitation spectrum of the BaO reaction products of the beam reaction $Ba + N_{2}O$ has been obtained over the wavelength range 400nm to 650nm using a pulsed dye laser. The spectra generally have no sharp feature, but serve to put bounds on the initial internal state populations of the ground state and metastable states of BaO
