Enseignement de l'informatique, éducation aux technologies de l'information et de la communication en France, dans l'enseignement général du second degré

National audienceForty years after the first attempts to introduce computer courses into French high schools, computer science today is neither a subject typically taught in schools nor is it considered to be an educating for. As a result, discussions about what should and could be taught in computer courses are still quite relevant. In addition, the ways in which computer science is currently represented and understood by the scientific institutions also reflects the ambiguity of its status. Even so, the increasing pervasiveness of the Internet and computers across all reaches of society makes it crucial to develop solid curricula in information and communication technologies. In effect, although the educational system tends to consider that students today share a common digital culture, current research on the question shows that such a shared culture does not necessarily exist. Given that other educating for, e.g. media education and educating for information literacy, similarly address the same issues raised here, this paper will explore a possible convergence between the three areas.Quarante ans après les premières tentatives d'introduction d'une discipline informatique au lycée, elle n'est ni une discipline scolaire pour tous les élèves, ni une éducation à... Les discussions sur ce que pourrait ou devrait être cet enseignement sont toujours d'actualité. Les représentations de l'informatique reflètent sa place ambiguë dans les institutions scientifiques. La place croissante de l'informatique dans la société rend pourtant nécessaire de s'interroger, à défaut de discipline, sur une éducation aux technologies de l'information et de la communication. En effet, le système éducatif tend à considérer que les élèves partagent une culture numérique, alors que les recherches montrent les limites de cette affirmation. D'autres éducations à... (éducation à l'information, éducation aux médias) traitent également des questions sociales posées par la société numérique, une convergence entre ces trois domaines constitue une voie à explorer
