International audienceThe ‘action-based perspective’ suggests a connection with activity theory, in other words, a sociocultural and a social intention. The CEFR deals with this social aspect up front by considering the speaker/learner as a social actor. Can ‘task’ therefore be considered to be individualized as the communicative approach leads us to believe? How can this social and action-based perspective be applied in language classes without returning to the tradition of learners developing on their own?
