The work-life balance is increasingly disturbed by the interaction of a number of factors. Work tends to occupy also the time “after hours”, because employees are expected to learn on an ongoing basis and improve their performance. The lack of a work-life balance produces many negative consequences that affect individuals, organizations and communities. Therefore, the imbalance has to be counteracted. The article discusses the causes and impacts of disturbed work-life balance, dealing also with the preventive measures that various entities apply, such as the government, employers, families and employees themselves
