Ce travail fait la synthèse de 5 années de mesures écophysiologiques et édaphiques réalisées dans un peuplement mélangé de chênes (quercus petraea et q. Robur) âgé de 35 ans. Les mécanismes de transfert de l'eau et ses résistances sont analysés en phase liquide (flux de sève) et vapeur (conductance stomatique), à différentes échelles (feuille, arbre, couvert) en condition d'alimentation hydrique optimale et en régime de dessèchement. Les deux espèces étudiées se sont montrées tolérantes à la sécheresse: régulation stomatique précoce mais partielle, gradient de potentiels hydriques élevés et niveaux de transpiration significatifs, faible vulnérabilité à la cavitation, enracinement profond.
