"New girls school, Chang-poo [Zhangpu], Jan 1893." Miss Maclagan of the English Presbyterian Mission opened a school for women and girls in 1892, moving into the new building in Octoner 1892. The upper floor was badly damaged in the earthquake of 1917. This building was replaced by a new building in 1923
