Integration of Comecon Countries in Auto Production

Socialist economic integration has placed on the agenda the problem of providing the transport necessary for the growing economic ties between COMECON countries, providing the requisite material and technological foundation, and ensuring the intensification of cooperation in the realm of transport. "The program for cooperation in the development of transport ties of COMECON member nations, directed toward the timely and uninterrupted satisfaction of their long-range need for all types of shipping," states the Communique of the Thirtieth COMECON Session, "will be oriented toward the modernization of various conveyances and toward the rational development of national transport systems in coordination with one another and with the European transport network"(1).
