Socialist Ownership Under the Conditions of Economic Integration of Comecon Member Nations

The highly developed system of reciprocal collaboration of COMECON member nations, especially under the conditions of their economic integration, has as its economic result the steady expansion of the sphere of socialist cooperation of labor. This process, which acquired additional impetus following the Twenty-Seventh Session of COMECON, is realized first of all on the basis of the utilization of various forms of joint planning activity. Historically the initial experience in the practical application of the principles of socialist cooperation of labor within the framework of a large, multinational territorial complex was amassed in the Soviet Union. At the same time, in analyzing the development of socialist cooperation of labor on an international basis one cannot fail to see its definite specific features. V. I. Lenin qualified as untrue the notion that the "democratic state of victorious socialism will exist without boundaries" and that these boundaries "will be determined âonlyâ on the basis of the needs of production." (>u>1>/u>) The formation and development of socialist statehood foreseen by Lenin make it necessary to study the economic base of this statehood â national-state property, including the study of "external" aspects and the consequences of its manifestation.
