Mexico-Tenochitlan--The wall that talks, Highland Park, Los Angeles, 1996. Arroyo Furniture, 6037 North Figueroa Street (at Avenue 61), Highland Park. A blending of Aztec, Mayan, Native American, African and other cultural iconography represents indigenous cultures in unity with each other. Quetzlcoatl, the ancient Mexican's mystical feathered serpent god, winds his way through the painting. The mural emphasizes the political significance of cultural self-definition for the Chicano.
