Further Improvement Marks Grip Epidemic

• Hamilton is not convinced, as of noon today, that there is enough improvement to warrant the lifting of any restrictions• There has been a falling off in the number of patients cared for at the emergency hospitals, particularly at Gannet House and the New York State Armory, both recently established; the Gannet House emergency hospital only had 2 patients overnight and the number at the Armory is small• The quarters of the Naval Reserve at the New York State Armory are being used as an emergency hospital for convalescent men; they will be kept there for a day or two after hospital discharge in order to guard against relapse• One of the lower floors of the Y.W.C.A. building on Franklin Street is being used for convalescent women and children who have been discharged from the upper floors upon signs of recovery• More emergency nurses are need by the Red Cross• The number of deaths compared to the number of cases in Rochester is noted to be fewer compared to most other cities• Miss Clara Land and Miss Marion Aldrich, Rochester nurses, returned from Quincy, Mass., and are enthusiastic about the system of operation used at the hospital where they worked thereNewspaper article
