Remove All Flu Cases To Central High Hospital

• Influenza conditions have rapidly improved.• In the 24 hour period ending at 11 pm last night, there were 94 new cases and 49 deaths, including 41 from influenza, 4 from lobar pneumonia, and 4 from bronchial pneumonia.• Compare with Friday: 203 new cases and 43 deaths• Influenza cases were transferred from Municipal hospital and city Hospital to Central high school hospital.• City hospital will be cleared of patients by today.• Last night, there were 250 patients in Central high school, and few new cases.• About 50 patients were moved each from Municipal hospital and City hospital to Central high school hospital.• Superintendent of the Municipal hospital, Dr. H. D. White, was transferred to the Central high school hospital, where he can now care for all patients in one building.• Dr. H. D. White serves as Supt. Walter S. Goodale’s chief assistant working with influenza patients.• Past influenza patients have been being discharged from hospitals at a rate of about 5-20/day.• Public schools have been being cleaned, ventilated, and disinfected to get ready for re-opening next Wednesday.• The school dept. received a report that all schools will be ready to re-open in time.• Dr. Clark visited Oswego for two weeks, where he said that a quarter of the population (28,000 people) were sick, with 25 deaths a day. • He said that Buffalo’s lower rates were due to the precautionary measures the city has taken.• Theaters will re-open tomorrow, which will end the ban on activities, aside from schools, which will re-open Wednesday.• Delaying the re-opening of schools is being done to give teachers a break, and wait until after the election.• Churches held normal Sunday services today.Newspaper article5
