Process Optimization For Purification Of Manganese Leach Solutions Used In Hydrometallurgical Manganese Production

Tez (Yüksek Lisans) -- İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 2013Thesis (M.Sc.) -- İstanbul Technical University, Institute of Science and Technology, 2013Bu çalışmada mangan liç çözeltilerinin, elektroliz işlemine gönderilebilmesi için, gerekli olan saflaştırma/mangan konsantrasyonun zenginleştirilmesi için kullanılan prosesler incelenmiştir. Yapılan çalışmalarda karbonatif çöktürme, oksidatif çöktürme prosesleri ve solvent ekstraksiyon incelenmiştir. Karbonatif çöktürmede sodyum ve kalsiyum karbonat kullanılmıştır. Oksidatif çöktürmede ise H2O2, saf oksijen ve hava kullanılmıştır. Karbonatif çöktürme yöntemi ile yapılan deneyler sonucunda maksimum demir giderme miktarı %42’dir. Bu nedenle karbonatif çöktürme tek başına yeterli değildir. Oksidatif çöktürmede ise; H2O2 deneylerinde incelenen parametreler; pH 2, 2,5, 3 ,…., 5,5, 6, sıcaklık 25, 35, 45, 55°C’dir. Hava deneylerinde ise pH 2,3,4, sıcaklık 40,50,…80°C’dir. Bulunan optimum koşullar ise H2O2; pH 3, oda sıcaklığı, 600 devir/dakika, 180dakika %2 H2O2 konsantrasyonudur. H2O2 ile yapılan deneyler sonucunda mangan kaybının genelde %50-55 bandında olduğu saptanmıştır. Havada ise pH 4, 80°C, 120 dakika, 3 L/dakika hava debisidir. Oksijen ile yapılan deneyler sonucunda, oksijen debisi artıkça çöken mangan ve demir miktarda artmaktadır. Bunu yanında saflaştırma işlemi için tek başına saf oksijen yeterli değildir. SX deneylerinde Cyanex 272 isimli ekstraktant (%90 kerosene, %10 Cyanex 272 karışımı ile) kullanılmıştır. Deneylerde değişen pH, A/O oranlarında ve çeşitli sürelerde çalışmalar yapılmıştır. Yapılan deney sonucunda mangan selektif olarak ekstraksiyon edilememiştir.The aim of this study is to identify the optimum conditions for the recovery and the purification of manganese leach solutions. On this purpose, in carbonate preparation, calcium and sodium carbonate was used. The oxidative preparation H2O2, pure O2 and air were used. Solvent extraction, Cyanex 272 was used in the process. Result of carbonate experiments: Maximum iron elimination amount observed is 42%. The carbonate preparation doesn’t use the purification of manganese leach solutions. Increasing the pH and temperature values leads to increase in iron precipitation. At %2 H2O2, pH 6 and 55°C, the amount of iron and manganese are 99.2 % and 55.8% respectively. At pH 3 and room temperature 78% iron and 43.5% manganese in the solution is removed. The amount of iron removal is within the desired range. The optimum conditions observed for the hydrogen peroxide experiments are pH 3, room temperature, %2 H2O2, 180 minutes, and 600 period/minute. 3 L/min oxygen flow rate and pH 5, 35°C for 300 minutes were tested. It is observed that 60% manganese and 36% iron has been removed. It is discovered that with increasing of pure oxygen flow rate, the amount of iron elimination also increases. An air flow as a result of pH 4 at 80°C and 120 minutes, 35% of manganese, 74% of iron has been removed. Optimum conditions observed are pH 4, 80°C and 120 minutes. Cyanex 272 don’t extractive manganese. For this reason Cyanex 272 could not use to purification manganese leach solutions.Yüksek LisansM.Sc
