Çerçeve elemanlarının kesit alanları tasarım değişkenleri olarak alınmakta ve yapının toplam ağırlığını minimize eden kesit alanları aranmaktadır. TS 648 yapı gerilme, stabilite ve izin verilen deplasman maksimum deplasman ile ilgili koşullar kısıtlama olarak alınmaktadır.
