The Early Moravian Settlement in Bartholomew County, Indiana

This thesis represents an effort to record, consecutively, a hitherto unpublished narrative of the part which the Moravian immigrants from North Carolina had, in the early settlement of Bartholomew County, Indiana. A previous study of some of the manuscript materials of this thesis, created in the writer, an admiration for the early leader of these Moravians, Martin Hauser. Consequently the work of narrating the happenings and affairs of the community in which he held such a central place, was not a boresome one.
