We, unconsciously and consciously, make use of our sense of smell, and if we were to ask ourselves where we smell from, surely our most immediate answer would be that we smell with our noses. But as Gordon Shepherd, a neuroscience professor at Yale University says, “we think we smell with our noses, but this is a bit like saying we hear with our ears.”Nosotros, inconsciente y conscientemente, hacemos uso de nuestro olfato, y si nos preguntásemos por dónde olemos seguramente nuestra respuesta más inmediata sea que olemos por la nariz, pero como dice Gordon Shepherd, profesor de neurociencia de la Universidad de Yale “nosotros pensamos que olemos con nuestras narices, pero esto es un poco como decir que escuchamos con las orejas”
