An attempt is made to assess the utility of the different methods to agglomerate the Indian Iron ore fines. The results of sintering and pellrtising studies carried out in N.M.L. with the iron ore fines from several mines in India. Sinters of good strength could be obtained from ore fines in all cases, but sinters made with natural fines and washed fines are not chemically suitable for iron smelting. Blue dust when combined with the ore fines can also be agglomerated by sintering. Good pellets could be produced out of the iron ore fines investigated and fine grinding to about 75-80 %-325 mesh was required for making them suitable for pelletisin
