Introduction: Through the accelerated growth of Latin American cities in recent decades, civil construction has increased considerably, as has the demand for social housing, especially in medium-sized cities, aimed at improving the quality of life. Objective: This study is to compare the characteristics of social housing projects in Passo Fundo (Brazil) and Tunja (Colombia), highlighting aspects such as their location, areas/cost and materiality. Methodology: The cities were selected as objects of study due to their similarities, specifically the concentration of income and the absence of housing projects that serve the most suffering population, preventing the expansion of their capabilities.
