The most part of the work will be performed in the Carcass and Meat Quality Laboratory of Agrarian School of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Alfredo Jorge Costa Teixeira. The group of Prof. Dr. Alfredo Jorge Costa Teixeira leads a research group with high experience in animal science specifically in meat and meat products quality. The research group has has been working in sheep and goat carcass evaluation and meat quality. He also has been working in methodologies to assess in vivo body and carcass composition using the Real Time Ultrasound (RTU) technology as well as image analysis techniques and recently the Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR) technology.
