The principle of operation of a thermodynamic plant consists in using a set of mirrors to concentrate a good part of the solar radiation towards a receiver which will transmit the heat received to a fluid in order to produce vapor. This steam will in turn be used to generate electricity. Some receivers are covered with so-called spectrally selective coatings, that is to say, which maximize the radiation absorbed by minimizing reflectivity in the visible range and limit heat loss by maximizing this reflectivity in the IR.
