Debate as a teaching method in teaching Spanish as a foreign language

Ovaj diplomski rad se bavi temom debate kao nastavne metode u procesu učenja španjolskog jezika. Teorijski dio sastoji se od određenja debate, opisa vrsta debata, opisa kompetencija koje se razvijaju debatom i analize upotrebe debate u nastavnim predmetima, s naglaskom na upotrebi debate u nastavi hrvatskog, engleskog i španjolskog jezika. Cilj je rada bio istražiti mišljenja učenika prema debati/uporabi debate u nastavi španjolskog jezika prije i poslije metodičke intervencije te koliko debata primijenjena u nastavi utječe na razvoj komunikacijske kompetencije učenika i na usvajanje novog vokabulara. Istraživanje se provelo upitnikom koji su ispitanici ispunili prije i nakon sata u kojem se koristila debata, metodički obrađena za primjenu u nastavi. Mišljenja učenika i prije debate bila su izrazito pozitivna, a nakon provedbe debate su se značajno povisila.This graduate thesis deals with the topic of debate as a teaching method in the process of learning the Spanish language. The theoretical part consists of a definition of debate, a description of the types of debate, a description of the competences developed through debate and an analysis of the use of debate in teaching subjects, with an emphasis on the use of debate in the teaching of Croatian, English and Spanish. The aim of the work was to investigate the opinions of students towards debate/the use of debate in Spanish language classes before and after the methodical intervention and how debate applied in class affects the development of students' communication competence and the acquisition of new vocabulary. The research was conducted with a questionnaire filled out by the respondents before and after the lesson in which debate was used, methodically processed for use in classes. The opinions of students even before the debate were extremely positive, and after the implementation of the debate were significantly increased
