Die serbische Philosophie heute

Serbian philosophy today (Die serbische Philosophie heute, Mihailo Djurić und Slobodan Žunjić Hrsg., München : Slavica Verlag dr. Anton Kovač, 1993) is a collection of papers dedicated to the history of philosophy and contemporary philosophical thought in Serbia. In the extensive introduction (72 pages), the editors, Mihailo Đurić and Slobodan Žunjić, gave an extensive philosophically thought-out overview of the history of Serbian philosophy. At the beginning of the introduction, they stated that the scope of the Serbian philosophical tradition is far more modest than the results achieved in Serbian literature and art. They emphasized that, although it lags behind the philosophies of the most developed European countries, Serbian philosophy nevertheless has continuity and distinctive characteristics. Apart from the introductory text devoted to the history of Serbian philosophy, Die serbische Philosophie heute contains works that provide an important insight into contemporary philosophical thought in Serbia. The papers represent authors from several generations of Serbian philosophers: Mihailo Đurić, Danilo N. Basta, Mihailo Marković, Staniša Novaković, Milan Damnjanović, Jovan Aranđelović, Svetozar Stojanović, Mirko Zurovac and Miroslav Milović
