The hydrolytic bacteria of corn seed hemicellulose was isolated from the same origin of corn see by one of authors(1964). It was recognized as a strain of genus Diplococcus at that time. Its morphological and physiological characteristics were studied. Results as following: 1. Vegetable cell:diplococcus,0.7~0.8micron. 2.Motility:non-motile. 3. Gram positive. 4. Gelatin liquefaction:(一). 5. Glucose bouillon agar colonies: entire,0.5~1mm,graysh white, mucoid to watery. 6.Bouillon broth: (一). 7. Glucose bouillon broth:growth, addition of hemicellulose enhances growth. 8. Aerobic:unaerobic fucultative. 9. Optimum temperture: 37°C. 10. Litmus milk: usually acid with coagulation. 11. Potato:no growth
