The protagonist of this article is Andrzej Walicki, undoubtedly the most creative personality in the circle of the so-called Warsaw School of the history of ideas. The following reflections aim to analyse his contribution to the Polish historiography of ideas and present the main fields of his study together with the most significant achievements in the history of Russian and Polish thought of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the theory of totalitarianism and the history of Marxism.Bohaterem artykułu jest Andrzej Walicki, bez wątpienia najbardziej twórcza osobistość w kręgu tzw. warszawskiej szkoły historii idei.
