Sport hall and its facilities for the elementary school Hudcova 35, Brno

The assignment of the diploma thesis is a continuation of the urbanistic-architectural study, which deals with the unused area in Medlánky as a whole. Both residential development and public amenities were proposed for the area. One of the main objects of the study was the sports hall, which is the subject of the thesis. The sports hall is located on the very edge of the unused area. It is located as close as possible to the existing primary school in Medlánky, for which it is to be built. The concept of the hall is adapted to the fact that there will be young children, around six years of age, so the space is clear and easy to navigate. There is a main corridor on both floors from which it is possible to reach almost all functional units. The hall is a multifunctional building. Its main space is of course the playing field itself, which is large enough to host handball, basketball, volleyball and many other sports. From the playing field, it is possible to access the changing rooms and facilities. On the upper floor there is a café and a multifunctional hall. Both of these areas are visually connected to the playing field in case the usage in the respective areas is connected. The main entrance to the tribune, which is located along the entire playing field, is also located at the level of the hall and café. The tribune has four rows and can accommodate a total of 300 spectators. The hall should become a multifunctional space that will serve not only the primary school but also local sports clubs and associations
