The purpose of this article is to communicate the results on digital skills and the use of virtual platforms in the teachers of the Luis Dueñas Educational Unit of the city of Portoviejo. The present investigation was carried out using a mixed approach, that is, qualitative and quantitative, the population was made up of 18 teachers and the rector of the entity studied, a Likert scale surveywas applied to the teachers and an interview was conducted with the rector through an open question questionnaire. Among the main findings, it was possible to verify that there is little training for teachers to acquire knowledge regarding digital skills, many of them resort to self-learning, but there are also teachers who remain resistant to change.
