Self-assembly is a process in which individual components arrange themselves into ordered structures. In the field of chemistry, this term is generally used for all building blocks linked together by weak interactions. The interest of self-assembling nanoparticles (NPs) lies in obtaining superstructures whose stacking nature offers a wide range of architectures (compact, porous, periodic, aperiodic, quasi-periodic, etc.). Moreover, nano-objects present various functional properties. Assembling them would therefore allow to combine these properties and to obtain concerted, even cooperative effects, which depend on the nature of the stacks.
