Abstract: This thesis investigates the impact of telehealth services on improving the quality of life for elderly high-risk patients in Bahrain's primary healthcare sector. The study combines both quantitative and qualitative methods to understand the effects of telehealth services and the factors that influence their adoption and usability. Background: With the advent of technology in healthcare, telehealth services have evolved as a promising solution for providing care to elderly high-risk patients. This research delves into the context of Bahrain's primary healthcare sector to understand the effectiveness of these services in improving the quality of life for this patient group. Methods: The study employs a mixed-methods approach, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative techniques. The quantitative portion involves a descriptive analysis of demographic information, the effects of telehealth services on quality of life, and the usability and acceptance of the telehealth system. The qualitative portion includes an analysis of interview data, providing an in-depth understanding of the objectives of the research and the challenges and recommendations arising from it. Results: Results were drawn from both descriptive and inferential analysis, examining the associations between demographic data and usability and acceptance of telehealth services. The study also analyzed the correlation between demographic data and the effects of telehealth on dimensions of patient quality of life. Conclusion: The findings from this study contribute to our understanding of the impact of telehealth services on the quality of life of elderly high-risk patients. It also sheds light on the usability and acceptance of telehealth systems in Bahrain's primary healthcare sector, offering recommendations for overcoming potential challenges.
