A set of about 30 large-scale maps of South Asia produced by the Survey of India in the Southern Asia series, at a scale of 32 miles per 1.014 inches (1:2,000,000). These maps cover the territory from Eastern Persia (Iran) to Western China and date from 1914 to 1945. Each map is named after a significant geographical feature within the map area--a city, a river, a country or part thereof etc. An Index Map is provided to illustrate the area covered by each of the maps. This index map can be downloaded to assist in selecting particular maps of interest to the viewer.
