A special set of 250 Nepal maps produced by the Survey of India from 1957 to 1975, at a scale of 1 inch per mile (63, 360). These maps were based on 1:40,000 scale aerial photographs taken between 1956 and 1958. Terrain is represented by contours at 100 feet intervals, with hill shading. The naming convention for these maps is the same as that used by the Survey of India for other South Asian maps. The number of the 4 degree x 4 degree block is given first, followed by the letter (A to P) of the sixteen 1 degree x 1 degree blocks in each 4 degree block eg. 38 D, and this is followed by a "]" symbol to indicate a slash and then a number from 1 to 16 to indicate the number of the map in the 1 degree block.
