Chemistry Of Metal-Diene Complexes: 31P NMR Studies of the Reaction of (COD)PtCl2 with Tertiary Phosphines in Methanol

The formation of cationic complex [(COD) PtCIL]+CL-(L=Pr\(_3^i\)P, Ph2But P, Bu\(_2^t\)MeP, Cy3P and Bu\(_3^t\)P) as the only product in the equimolar reaction between (COD)PtCI2 and tertiary psosphines has been defined. r. e. reaction of (COD)PtCI2 with two mole equivalent of tertiary phosphine formation.of various intermediate complexes including [C8H1 2OCH3 )PtCIL] by the nucleophilic attack of methoxyl-amion on the coordinated cyclo-octadiene Has been observed
