A review of research shows that the work of a police officer is stressful and a special profession. Managing work at the operational level of the Slovenian police requires a lot of effort from the leaders and, consequently, their exposure to various factors that lead to burnout. Burnout was measured on a sample composed of heads of 111 police stations in Slovenia using the MBI - Maslach burnout inventory questionnaire. The questionnaire was completed by the heads of police stations and their immediate subordinates - assistant commanders.
