Assess the attitudes of children aged 12 and 15 to their dental health and quality of life according to the modified EGOHID criteria. Materials and methods. We conducted the questionnaires of 228 pupils 12 and 15 years old. We have formed 2 groups of study: I — children aged 12, II — children aged 15. The questionnaires contained questions about the nature of nutrition, features of oral care, hereditary tendency to develop caries and general somatic state of the body. The results. We found that children of both groups (86.36 % and 75.56 %) brush their teeth twice a day and evaluate their state as good. 40.90 % of children of group I and 36.36 % of children of group II pay attention to their teeth several times a day, in addition 31.81 % of children of group I and 27.27 % of children of group II look at their teeth several times a week that contradicts the results of brushing twice a day. Almost all children in both groups brush their teeth with toothbrush and toothpaste, only 2 children indicating the use the tooth powder. As for the toothpaste, only 5 children of both groups indicate the use of calcium-containing toothpaste, other do not know the composition of the paste. With regard to food, half of the children eat sweets every day, the rest less often, eat whole raw fruits and vegetables, and the rest are cut into pieces. Children visit doctors of other specialties a three times a year and in terms of dental visits, only a third of children and their parents visit twice a year. Conclusions. As a result of a subjective survey, we found insufficient attention of children to the condition of their teeth, poor oral care and nutritional deficiencies. Key words: dental health, caries, EGOHID. Вищий державний навчальний заклад України «Буковинський державний медичний університет» Резюме Мета дослідження. Оцінити ставлення дітей 12 та 15 років до їхнього стоматологічного здоров’я і якості життя за модифікованими критеріями EGOHID. Матеріали та методи. Із цією метою проведено опитування 228 дітей віком 12 та 15 років (22 хлопців та 35 дівчат) та розділили їх на 2 вікові групи: І — 12 років; ІІ — 15 років. Суб’єктивна оцінка стоматологічного здоров’я включала запитання щодо частоти чищення зубів, оцінки стану зубів та ясен, засобів та предметів для чищення зубів та перевірки ефективності чищення зубів, особливостей харчування, перш за все вживанні солодощів, а також назагал чи діти звертають увагу на вигляд їхніх постійних та молочних зубів, кратність відвідування лікарів загального профілю, в тому числі і стоматолога. Результати. Ми виявили, що діти обох груп (62,36 % та 75,56 %) чистять зуби двічі на день і оцінюють їхній стан як хороший. 68,75 % дітей І групи та 76,36 % дітей ІІ групи задоволені виглядом своїх зубів. Майже всі діти в обох групах чистять зуби зубною щіткою та зубною пастою. Щодо складу зубної пасти, то лише 18,7 % дітей обох груп вказують на використання зубної пасти, що містить фтор, інші не знають склад пасти. Щодня їдять солодощі 87,5 % дітей І групи та 75, 5 % ІІ групи та відповідно 75,5 % та 64,3 % щодня вживають солодкі напої. 93,7 % дітей І групи звернулися до лікарів-стоматологів протягом року самостійно та 50 % у разі гострого болю, подібна динаміка і щодо дітей ІІ групи. Висновки. У результаті суб’єктивного опитування нами встановлено недостатню увагу дітей до стану своїх зубів, неповноцінний догляд за ротовою порожниною та недоліки в харчуванні.
