The article deals with the idea of St. P. Florensky about the “two paths” in religion. It is noted that these “paths” - theodicy and anthropodicy - Florensky understood, respectively, as the ascent of man to God and the descent of God to man. On this basis, Florensky built his concept of the knowledge of God. This concept asserts the need to combine the acceptance of the dogmatic teaching of the Church and the living religious experience, for which church dogmas serve as a criterion of authenticity
