Presidency College, Calcutta. N, N-Diphenylthiourea has been recommended as a sensitive and selective analytical reagent for the spectrophotometric determination of all the platinum metals. The platinum metals form stable complexes with the chelating agent under different experimental conditions. By the use of this organic reagent each of the platinum metals can be determined spectrophotometrically in presence of commonly associated base metals and other platinum metals. A simple method for the separation and determination of the Individual platinum metals from their synthetic mixtures has been described
