D4.6: Analysis of User Requirements, Needs and Visionary User Cases for ARETE – UPDATE

User requirements evolve in the process of software development. In the early phase of the ARETE project, we captured requirements from the ARETE target groups with the three surveys targeting primary school students, secondary school students, and teachers. Analysis results were distilled into different sets of requirements; many of which need to be addressed at the institutional (e.g., school governance) and governmental (e.g., educational authorities) levels, for instance, provision of quality digital devices to run AR applications (for details see D4.2 M18). These requirements entail long-term strategic changes and thus may only be addressed beyond the lifetime of the ARETE project, which is aimed to provide policymakers with empirical evidence for the efficacy of AR as educational tool. Regarding the technical requirements, functional as well as non-functional, for deploying AR educational applications, collaborative efforts between WP4 and other WPs (WP3, WP5 and WP6), have been invested to ensure the high interaction quality of the ARETE Pilot apps. Details of the related research activities and results can be found in D4.5 (M30). This deliverable reports on two major tasks undertaken recently by WP4: (i) our new initiative to expand the ARETE work to South America (Section 2) and (ii) the evaluation of three PBIS multi-user apps (Section 3).This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 856533
