VITALISE D2.8 First version of user requirements

In line with the iterative and agile spiral model approach, the development of the VITALISE ICT tools incorporate user requirements and aim to provide convenient access to researchers. Said requirements are being collected between M6 and M24 and will provide insights and guidance to the developers of the ICT tools, under WP3, regarding the curation and access of the datasets, the desired UI and the functionality of the tools, all aimed to achieve increased acceptability by the researchers. In order to achieve this, a number of workshops and literature review, for each ICT tool, was conducted under Task 2.4 with perspective users of the tools. In addition, to further understand the researchers’ needs, a questionnaire was developed, in an attempt to identify their attitude towards data sharing and further guide the developers of the ICT tools. This document is the first version of the ICT tools user requirements and provides the rationale behind the development of the tools as well as a brief description of them, the methodology and tools used to conduct the workshops with researchers and collect their suggestions, opinions and concerns, and a brief description of the protocol used for the questionnaire. Also, this deliverable includes the refined outcomes of the workshops transformed into prioritized development requirements, as well as a summary of the questionnaire results and the requirements derived from them. Finally, the requirement prioritization and release planning are presented. The requirements presented in the document will be further refined during the Harmonization Board and Body meetings in order to assist the developers of the tools in their goal to create tools tailored to researchers’ skills and needs. The final version of the ICT tools requirements will be submitted at M24 of the VITALISE project in deliverable D2.9 “Final version of user Requirements.
