This paper reports research into the identification of a strategy for developing situation specific design methods to produce interface design guidelines that include the social and emotional nature of users to create pleasurable user experiences in human-computer interaction (HCI) in retail e-commerce. The paper conceptualises a new way to use information about user experiences in specific real world social interactions to synthesise interface design guidelines based on specific identified social behaviours (i.e. situation-specific design methods or guidelines).
