Lasianthaea fruticosa K. M. Becker 1979

Bidens fruticosa Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 833. 1753. "Habitat in America." RCN: 6526. Basionym of: Verbesina fruticosa (L.) L. (1759). Lectotype (D’Arcy in Woodson & Schery in Ann. Missouri Bot. Gard. 62: 1110. 1975): Herb. Clifford: 399, Bidens 3 (BM-000646989). Current name: Lasianthaea fruticosa (L.) K.M. Becker (Asteraceae). Note: Blake (in J. Bot. 53: 13-14. 1915) discussed the Hortus Cliffortianus account and specimen, concluding that B. fruticosa was "based on" these two elements.
